La Bombona

Our Diving School

Koh Tao is where it all began. We founded our dive school here on Sairee Beach in 2014, and twelve years and more than 20,000 certifications later, the recipe hasn't changed: small groups, seasoned instructors, and an oceanfront classroom with the waves as your soundtrack.

Chumphon Pinnacle

Koh Tao's signature deep site — a granite pinnacle wrapped in anemones, with big schools of trevally and barracuda and, in season, whale sharks.

Sail Rock

The Gulf of Thailand's most famous dive — a vertical chimney swim-through, huge fish schools and the best whale-shark odds around. Our Friday fast-boat trip.

White Rock

The all-rounder just off Sairee — coral gardens, angelfish, blue-spotted rays and turtles. Brilliant by day, magical on a night dive.

Shark Island

A rocky islet off the south-east tip with soft corals, sea snakes and the occasional passing pelagic when the current runs.

Southwest Pinnacle

A cluster of submerged peaks covered in anemones — groupers, snappers and big schools circling in the blue.

HTMS Sattakut Wreck

A 48-metre former US Navy ship sunk as an artificial reef — an unforgettable first wreck dive on your Advanced course.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a Try Dive and a course?

A Try Dive is a one-day introduction — a guided first dive, no certification. A course (like Open Water) is the real thing: a few days of training that ends with a worldwide licence. Not sure which is yours? Message us and we'll be honest with you.

Is everything included in the price?

Nearly — our Koh Tao prices include equipment, your instructor or guide, boat trips, snacks and your certification. The only extra is the mandatory dive insurance (100 THB).

Do I need a medical exam?

Not automatically. You'll fill in the standard diving medical questionnaire before you start — only if you answer "yes" to a question do you need a doctor's sign-off. Unsure? Message us before you travel and we'll check for you.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

For a Try Dive, no — there's no swim test, and your instructor stays right beside you in calm, shallow water. For the Open Water certification you'll need to manage a 200 m swim and 10 minutes of floating.

What if I get nervous in the water?

Completely normal — most first-timers are. We teach in small groups, start in calm, shallow water where you can simply stand up, and move at your pace. Nobody gets rushed.

What languages do you teach in?

We teach in English and Spanish, and your digital training materials are available in many more languages.

Is there an age minimum?

Yes — diving starts at age 10, for both Try Dives and the Open Water (with junior programmes for ages 10-14; from 15 you take the full course). There's no upper age limit as long as you're in good health.

How do I book?

WhatsApp is the fastest way — message us and we'll sort your plan together. Our boat leaves right from Sairee Beach, and most of Koh Tao's dive sites are only a short ride away.
