Twelve years and more than 20,000 certifications later, this beach is still home.
Imagine stepping onto our oceanfront patio on Sairee Beach, where the classroom’s soundtrack is the waves themselves. This is where La Bombona began, and where hundreds of divers a year still take their first breaths underwater. As the day winds down, the beachfront becomes a gathering place where divers connect to share underwater adventures, meet fellow dive enthusiasts, or celebrate the day’s achievements with their dive team — with Koh Tao’s sunset doing the lighting. La Bombona Diving started on Koh Tao in 2014 with a simple idea: diving should feel personal, not like a production line. That meant small groups, instructors who remember your name, and training that goes beyond the minimums.
The idea worked. Koh Lipe followed, and then Gili Trawangan — but Koh Tao is where the story began, and it’s still the training island we measure everything against.
Bombona is Spanish for the tank on your back. It’s the first thing every diver carries and the last thing they think about once the diving gets good — which is exactly how equipment should be.
Safety without ceremony. High standards, small groups, well-maintained equipment — delivered with a laugh, not a lecture.
Training that exceeds minimums. More water time, more practice, more confidence than the course standards ask for. Our rescue training is famously thorough. Cutting corners is someone else’s business model.
The ocean itself. Beach clean-ups, reef-safe practice, and briefings that treat marine life as hosts, not props.
Our dive boat is spacious, comfortable, and designed with divers in mind. It offers a smooth ride, space to gear up with ease, and a rooftop area to relax between dives.
